Each month, we provide a free reference image for artists to sketch. Submit your drawing by using the challenge hashtag on Bluesky to enter the challenge. Check back each month for a new challenge!
How to enter.
- Download the free reference.
- Create your sketch.
- Use #TrueRefDT003 on Bluesky to enter or submit via Discord.
The prizes.
Two winners each month receive a free 1-month TrueRef+ subscription!
- Staff Pick: Chosen by the TrueRef team.
- Random Winner: Selected at random.

FAQs
Is the challenge only on Bluesky and Discord?
For now, yes! We will open the challenge up to other social media soon, however.
Are there any specific rules?
Currently, none that are not already covered in our TOU.
Can I use the reference, but not enter the challenge?
Yes! Feel free to use the reference in both personal and commercial work as long as you follow our TOU.
Do I have to copy the reference or can I just use the general pose?
You can just use the general pose. You do not have to include the likeness of the model. You can use an OC, create fan art or create any other character art.
Do I retain the rights to my entry?
Yes! Additionally, TrueRef would never repost an artist's work without their direct permission.
